DOXA was chosen to provide the official timepieces for Fabien Cousteau’s Mission 31 endeavor, conducted in June 2014 on Aquarius. The only undersea marine habitat and lab in the world located in the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The 31-day underwater mission set a new submersion record for human oceanic exploration. DOXA also set a record for the longest continuously used dive watch under water.
The Mission 31 SUB is a modern titanium cased version of the popular DOXA watch that Jean Michel Cousteau and his father wore. It features a new high-tech, light-weight case and bracelet with the strength of stainless steel. It is a 44-millimeter, handmade automatic Swiss watch developed specifically for divers and features a limited edition commemorative dial celebrating Mission 31. A portion of the proceeds of the 331 piece series will be donated to the mission.
The last batch of the Titanium model is currently being tested, those pieces were all on display on the mission and might have slight display marks.
